Coimbatore, Dec. 25 (ANI): An 18-foot tall eco-friendly Christmas tree, made of used materials, was a huge attraction in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on Friday.
Made of used water bottles and supported by steel rods from inside, the tree decorated with stars, lights and other material, was photographed by people from all walks of life.
Bindu, the designer of the tree, said she wanted to create an environment-friendly product.
“We have made a Christmas tree with steel and 1021 bottles, 18 feet height, where this is used pet bottles which are used to show the public that we can use everything in a recycled model. We have never used any trees or papers of anything to show an eco-friendly based Christmas tree,” said designer of the tree, Bindhu
Christians across India and world throng churches, sing carols, and celebrate Christmas on December 25.
Christians make up to 2.3 percent of India’s 1.2 billion population with its largest concentration in the southern and northeastern states. In India, Christmas means getting together with friends, giving presents and hosting dinners. (ANI)
