18-year-old Brampton man held for attempted murder

peel police5Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Peel Regional Police  have charged an 18 year-old male in relation to a shooting incident in Brampton.

On Saturday, July 2nd, 2016, at approximately 9:42 p.m., the victim was approached by the suspect in the area of Kennedy Road and Clarence Street.  The two became engaged in a verbal dispute, following which the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot the victim. The suspect then fled the area.

The victim, a 19 year-old resident of Brampton, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, July 6th, 2016, Khalile Silveira, an 18 year-old resident of Brampton was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and several firearms- related offences.

Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have information about this matter, to call them at (905) 453-2121, ext. 2233.  Anonymous information may also be submitted to Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca.  Information leading to the identification of any of the suspects may qualify for a cash reward. – CINEWS
