After legal and censor troubles and other controversies ’31st October’ is finally set to hit the screens this week.
The producer say that the film, based on the anti-Sikh riots that followed Indira Gandhi’s assassination in 1984, promotes unity.
The story revolves around a family that survives the riots against all odds.
Says producer Harry Sachdeva, “When you think about a film that highlights the random killing of Sikhs, you expect it to be violent and even offensive to certain communities. But this movie is far from that. In fact, it shows how different communities can stay together during challenging times.”
’31st October’, produced by Magical Dreams Productions Pvt Ltd, co-produced by Anand Prakash and released by Panorama Studios, ’31st October’ releases on October 21.
It is directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil and the lead roles are played by Vir Das and Soha Ali Khan.
Soha said yesterday that she is not using any make up in the film. – CINEWS
