Public invited to York Police ‘open house’

York Regional Police Chief Eric Jolliffe has invited the public and media to the York Regional Police Annual Open House to kick off Police Week 2016, which runs May 15 to May 21, 2016.

The Open House will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Safety Village of York Region, located in Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area at 3291 Stouffville Road in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. The informative and fun-filled day includes demonstrations and exhibits from a variety of York Regional Police units. Children will also have an opportunity to ride in miniature cars through the Safety Village.

In addition, each of the five York Regional Police District Headquarters will be open to the public for tours on the following evenings:

  • #1 District Headquarters, 240 Prospect Street, Newmarket
    • Monday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • #2 District Headquarters, 171 Major Mackenzie Drive West, Richmond Hill
    • Wednesday, May 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • #3 District Headquarters, 3527 Baseline Road, Sutton
    • Monday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • #4 District Headquarters, 2700 Rutherford Road, Vaughan
    • Wednesday, May 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • #5 District Headquarters, 8700 McCowan Road, Markham
    • Monday, May 16 through to Thursday, May 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
