Kashmir (J-K), Mar 31 (ANI): A 50-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by terrorists in Noorpora village of Tral in south Kashmir on Wednesday night.
Unknown gunmen opened fire at the woman when she was alone in her home.
“I was out somewhere, heard some gunshots fired. When I came back home, I saw bullet marks on her body,” said victim’s son.
“Police later came and sent the body for post-mortem,” he added.
Violence of the sort remains a problem in Kashmir, which India and Pakistan claim in full but rule in part, although levels of violence are down from the levels of the 1990s when an armed revolt against Indian rule erupted.
India accuses Pakistan of training and arming the rebels in the portion it controls and sending them to the Indian side, a claim its neighbour denies (ANI)
