6.9-magnitude quake hits Vanuatu

Port Vila, April 6 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale hit 102 km west of Sola, Vanuatu, on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.

The quake with the epicentre at a depth of 33.0 km was initially determined to be at 13.9 degrees south latitude and 166.6 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
