All it took for some better weather for drivers to come out speeding. The OPP charged 67 drivers with street racing around the GTA in the past week.
Officers pulled over nearly 10 motorists a day in the GTA in the past seven days for allegedly operating their vehicles dangerously. Reports say that the vehicles stopped were of all makes and models.
Police believe that the spike in the number of drivers going at “extreme speeds” could be due in part to the warmer weather. And if that is cause for such rash driving, summer will spell trouble.
Penalties for car racing can include a seven-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. -CINEWS
