There was a time when Nina Grewal and her husband Gurmant made history when they became the first husband-wife team in Parliament. Now Nina’s younger son Liv Grewal just won the new Mission Matsqui Fraser Canyon federal riding nomination and if he wins, there could just end up being a mom-son team in the House of Commons.
Abbotsford businessman Jatinder (Jati) Sidhu has been nominated as the federal Liberal candidate in the riding.
Liv earned his Bachelor’s degree in political science from SFU and his Master’s in public management and governance from the London School of Economics. He interned at the office of Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Grewal is a behavioural economics consultant who seeks to provide strategies for utility companies on how to get consumers to decrease water consumption. He is on the government affairs committee of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce, according to news reports.
