Aamir Khan will be seeking entertainment tax exemption for Dangal before its release next month.
Talking to media he says “I believe it’s a film which has the parameters of getting a tax exemption. So I think it falls under that category. But that’s not for me to decide. Ultimately, it is for the state governments in each state to decide that. But we will be applying for tax exemption and we are going to try for it before the release. But it’s a process, it may happen or it may not happen. I can’t predict how long will it take.”
Aamir wants Dangal and its message to reach a large number of audience. The film which is based on wrestling also deals with women empowerment as its core subject.
Aamir is hopeful that the film will be certified U and not U/A by the CBFC as the actor believes kids should also watch Dangal as that can pair them to channel their passion to better things in life.
He says he believes it is a universal film. “It’s about children and for them. So it’s a film for families. And according to us, it will be a U film.”
Concerned about recent of film leaks to the internet he says, “ We will try our level best to curb it. So this time too we will try to tackle it.”
Earlier in the day, Aamir held a special screening for the media to showcase the behind-the-scenes footage of Dangal. – CINEWS
