Aamir…Dangal is a real life story.

Actor Aamir Khan said that after the release of his biographical sports drama, Dangal, he will start shooting for Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thug.

In Dangal, the 51-year-old actor will be seen playing a father to teenage girls. His role in Thug would be lighter, with shades of his Rangeela character. As per reports, the role was initially offered to Hrithik Roshan, but due to his demand for changes in the script, the deal couldn’t be worked out.

Later, the director approached the Ghajini actor with a tweaked script. Aamir, who is known for taking a long time to decide on a movie, reportedly said ‘yes’ after going through the storyline.

Recently Aamir Khan was spotted shooting at a suburban studio, revealing his new look.

Dangal is the story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, and his daughters, including the wrestling champions Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari.
Recently Aamir had hinted that having a similar theme with Sultan was worrying him as the audience might see Dangal as another wrestler film.

Dangal was supposed to focus on women wrestlers in the ring. But after Anushka Sharma played a similar role in Sultan, Aamir seems to have changed his mind. To set the film apart from Salman’s, Aamir has now decided to shift the focus onto the father-daughter relationship in the film. Well Sultan had a little bit of that as well.

However, setting the two films apart is the fact that while Sultan portrayed a fictional story, Dangal is based on real life. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is set to release on 23 December this year. – CINEWS
