After ODI loss, Morgan says England ‘ a long way off ‘ from Australia

London, Sept.4 (ANI): <strong class=’StrictlyAutoTagBold’>England skipper Eoin Morgan has admitted that his side was ‘a long way off ‘ from becoming world champions. He said this following their 59-run defeat against <strong class=’StrictlyAutoTagBold’>Australia in the first one day <strong class=’StrictlyAutoTagBold’>international of the five-match series in Southampton.

The 28-year-old felt that <strong class=’StrictlyAutoTagBold’>Australia is a really strong side, and that <strong class=’StrictlyAutoTagBold’>England would have to <strong class=’StrictlyAutoTagBold’>perform at their best to beat them, the Guardian reports.

He also added that the tourists defended the score quite well and placed <strong class=’StrictlyAutoTagBold’>England under pressure throughout the match.

Morgan said opener Jason Roy played extremely well.

The two sides will now lock horns in the second ODI of the five-match series at Lord’s, London on Saturday. (ANI)
