Mumbai, December 8 (CINEWS): Airlift is a film that arrangements with the clearing story of Indians from Kuwait after Saddam Hussain’s attack in 1990. Normally, one would anticipate that it will have a solemn tone.
The film however has not one but rather two tune and move arrangements — one that plays amid a gathering before the attack and one where Akshay’s character glances back at more satisfied times. The last was shot on Sunday when Akshay Kumar, who has a strict ‘no work on Sunday’ approach, made an exemption for Airlift.
Says executive Raja Krishna Menon, “It’s a number where after the emergency, Akshay’s character thinks back about more satisfied days. We shot it not as an after-thought, but rather in light of the fact that it fits into the plot. Yes, it is a strained film and no, the melodies don’t break the film’s pressure.
