Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ portrays India winning the Olympic Gold Medal

Reema Kagti directed ‘Gold’ is a historical period sports drama film.

The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment banner.

It is a fictional story set on a backdrop of true incidents about India winning the Olympic Gold Medal in hockey as a free nation in the 1948 Summer Olympics.

The film features Akshay Kumar as Sri N. N. Mukherjee and Kunal Kapoor as Dhyan Chand, a legendary Indian field hockey player in the history of the sport.

‘Gold’ also features Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushalin prominent roles.

Major shooting had been done in Yorkshire and The Midlands, England.

Film ‘Gold’ is expected to hit the theatres on 15 August next year.–CINEWS
