All are invited to CeleBrampton – day of food, fun and parades on June 11


Flashback to 2015 CeleBrampton

Bramptonians are being invited to gather their families, friends and neighbours and attend CeleBRAMPTON, a day of free entertainment, food and family fun, on Saturday, June 11 from 11 am to 4 pm in downtown Brampton.

Mayor Linda Jeffrey will bring official greetings to the Concert Zone in Garden Square at 11 am to open the event.

“This event is a great opportunity for our community to come together, explore the beautiful downtown, enjoy free, fun-filled activities and kick off the summer,” said Mayor Linda Jeffrey. “Come join this celebration of Brampton’s lively, vibrant spaces, sample great food and enjoy the entertainment.”

CeleBRAMPTON revelers can ride Brampton transit for a loonie on June 11 (cash fare only). This $1 fare does not apply with the use of PRESTO. Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted in the Kids Zone and Community Zone.  CeleBRAMPTON highlights include free food on Wellington Street and in Gage Park and Garden Square, and the following entertainment and activities:

Concert Zone – Garden Square, 11 am – 3 pm
Hosted by Scott Fox of Z103.5 with live sets by DJ Drew
• Pirate show
• Jedi show – is the Force with you?
• A variety of local Brampton performers

Kids Zone – Gage Park, 11 am – 3 pm
• Two huge inflatable slides
• Craft station
• Airbrush tattoos
• Video game truck
• Rock wall, and more

Community Zone – Main Street South, 11 am – 2:15 pm
• Local community groups showcasing their programs
• Kitefest – build and decorate your own kite
• Interactive sticker wall – help complete it throughout the event

Info City and Picnic Zone – Ken Whillans Square, 11 am – 3 pm
• City departments showcasing their services and programs
• Live mural painting
• Free kettle corn

BMX Stunt Zone and Bike Fest – Main Street North, 11 am – 2:15 pm
• Craz E Crew Stunt Team shows and autographs
• Bike Fest community groups

At the grand finale, the Flower City Parade, residents are invited to line the streets at 3 pm to enjoy beautiful floats, marching bands, costume characters and so much more. Road closures are scheduled around the downtown from 8 am until 5 pm.
