Alok Kumar Verma appointed Delhi Police Commissioner

New Delhi, Feb. 18 (ANI): Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Thursday appointed senior IPS officer Alok Kumar Verma as the next Delhi Police Commissioner.

Verma, who is currently serving as the Director General of Tihar (Prison), would take charge on March 1.

The 1979-batch Union Territory cadre officer will take over from incumbent B. S. Bassi, who will retire on February 29.

He will serve as the Police Commissioner of Delhi for 17 months. (ANI)
