Alok Kumar Verma to be new Delhi police chief

New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANS) IPS officer Alok Kumar Verma has been appointed Delhis’ new police commissioner, Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung announced on Thursday.

Verma will assume charge from incumbent B.S. Bassi on February 29, the day the latter retires, a statement from Jung’s office said. Verma is now the director general of prisons.
