The divorce of the Bollywood couple Amala Paul and director AL Vijay had shocked the tinsel town.
Since the day they got married two years ago they were seen as a perfectly happy couple. While the two cited “compatibility issues” as the reason for divorce, truth has now emerge. Apparently, Vijay’s parents request to Amala to quit acting after marriage had put a lot of pressure on the actress.
She has been also mistreated by the family and faced a lot of pressure to give up her career, according to her friends. The truth was revealed by a family friend even though Amala is yet to comment on the issue.
To keep Vijay’s parents happy, Amala decided to take a break from her career. However, she had to fulfil the commitments of three films she accepted before the marriage. Vijay even used to accompany Amala to her shoots.
Vijay, who is working on Tamil-Telugu bilingual Devi, has refused to comment on the issue. “I don’t want to talk anything about it. I will abide by my parent’s decision,” the director said, indirectly confirming the buzz.
Meanwhile, Amala’s friend said, “She was pained by the treatment meted out to her in her husband’s house and her interests were never cared for. Vijay on the other hand, had treated Amala well, as his wife and as an actor.” Amala is promoting her upcoming film Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum at present. The couple got married in a much-talked-about ceremony in June 2014. – CINEWS
