And the Oscar animation winners are.

New Delhi, Feb 29 (ANI): At the 2016 Academy Awards, both ‘Bear Story’ and ‘Inside Out’ turned out to be winners.

Gabriel Osorio and Pato Escala’s ‘Bear Story’ won the Best Animated Short Film, pipping ‘Prologue,’ ‘Sanjay’s Super Team,’ ‘We Can’t Live Without Cosmos’ and ‘World of Tomorrow’ to the gong.

This is the first Oscar win and nomination for the ‘Bear Story’ collaborators and also the first win for a Chilean animated short film.

The duo told the audience, “This is the first Oscar for our country so it is very important for us,” and thanked “everybody in Chile that has supported us and trusts in our work.” In Spanish, they offered “a big hug to everyone,” adding “Viva Chile!”

Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera’s ‘Inside Out’ won the Best Animated Feature Film, beating ‘Anomalisa,’ ‘Boy & the World,’ ‘Shaun the Sheep Movie’ and ‘When Marnie Was There.’

This marks Rivera’s first Oscar win and Docter’s second. The directors said this movie was born from watching their kids grow up.

In his acceptance speech, Docter told the kids out there, “There are days you’re going to feel sad, you’re going to feel angry. People can’t help that, but you can make stuff. Make films, draw, write. It will make a world of difference.”

The 88th Academy Awards took place on February 28 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre. (ANI)
