During the session, Ankur shared his story of how he grew up in the small town of Roorkee, and as a kid was rejected by his school choir because of a cracked voice. His father bought him a guitar and he instantly fell in love with the instrument and began practicing regularly with his teacher.

Gradually, he started playing on his own while he pursued a degree in Hotel Management from Bhopal. He often escaped ragging by playing tunes on his guitar for his seniors. He started singing and playing in a hotel near the Bhopal airport which was the first time he got a crowd. During his industrial training in Taj Mansingh Hotel, while doing his daily chores, he realised this life is not for him.

He went to Mumbai to try his luck at different record labels, but that did not work too well for him. He moved toDelhi, where he got refuge from an acquaintance Colonel Kapoor. During this time, he succeeded in contributing to stage plays, short films, sing radio jingles and score for the TV series ‘Ek Aur Fauji’. This is when his network grew stronger. He co-directed a film ‘Let’s Enjoy’ and moved to Mumbai to edit it, which featured the well-known song ‘Sabse Peeche Hum Khade’. He eventually composed the soundtrack for ‘Aao Wish Karein’ in 2009. At this stage, he was recognized by music label HOM records, which launched his first album Jannat in 2011.

Over the course of time he has been an integral part of the entertainment industry – as an actor in ‘Luck By Chance’, ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, as a script writer for ‘Tere Bin Ladin’, as a music director in Soundtrack, ‘Raat Gayi Baat Gayi’ and ‘Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local’ among others. Presently, he is considered as a multi-faceted star in the Indian film industry.

To quote the celebrity artist, “We all have ambitions and dreams but not many are inspired enough to pursue them and that is the reason I am very happy to be a part of Signature Start Up Masterclass as it helps me in encouraging people to follow their passion no matter how hard the struggle is.”
