Ahmednagar, Jan. 1 (ANI): Social activist Anna Hazare has written another letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reminding him of his pre-poll promise of fighting corruption, saying the evil continues to grow in the nation with every passing day.
Speaking exclusively to ANI, Anna said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised of intensifying the fight against corruption if his government came to power in Centre.
“Today almost one and half year has passed since this government assumed office but the corruption hasn’t come down in the country, instead it continues to grow with every passing day,” he said.
Anna further said that his letter to the Prime Minister states on how the present government was not paying heed to Lokpal and Lokayukta laws.
“Prime Minister raises different issues in Mann Ki Baat, I expected him to talk on corruption, but he has not done so far. He is not talking on how to curb corruption in the country,” he added.
Hazare also recalled when he undertook the fast at Ramlila ground in Delhi and said that at the time, corruption touched its peak in the last government and even the ministers were found involved in scams. (ANI)
