The last time Sandra Alexander, the anti-Muslim activist was in the news, it was for distributing anti-Muslim leaflets outside a mosque. This time she has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause bodily harm and assault.

She is accused of yelling racial slurs and trying to remove another woman’s hijab.

Police are still trying to track down one of the victims.

The attack occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 29. An 18-year-old woman was standing at a bus shelter when she was approached by a woman who started yelling racial slurs and began flicking a lighter toward her.

Police say an “unidentified female” intervened and she was also attacked and “an attempt was made to remove her hijab,” a head covering worn by Muslim women, said a statement from Peel police.
