Any sort of tinkering with current structure of Delhi Police will be ‘unfortunate’: Bassi

New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi on Friday said that any sort of tinkering with the current structure of the police machinery will be unfortunate.

“Under the present structure of Delhi Police machinery, the system which has been established under Delhi Police Act is capable of protecting the citizens. There should be no tinkering with this system. If tinkering is done, which dilutes the capacity of Delhi Police, definitely it will be an unfortunate event,” Bassi told ANI here.

“These advertisements are creating unnecessary controversy. They are the consequence of political positioning or lack of total awareness about what police does,” he added.

In what may spark off another row between the Centre and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has put up new posters exhorting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to let the Delhi Government work.

“PM Sir, please allow Delhi Government to work, it is doing good work,” read the posters outside the Delhi Secretariat. (ANI)
