Actor Arjun Kapoor is proud of his cousin Harshvardhan, who is making his Bollywood debut in Mirzya.
“You make me a proud brother Harshvardhan! Your talent is for all to see… Now keep your head down and work even more hard just like Anil Kapoor,” Arjun tweeted on Wednesday.
Harshvardhan is the son of actor Anil Kapoor, while Arjun is the son of Anil’s elder brother Boney.
Commenting on “Mirzya”, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Arjun said: “Poetry in motion. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the artist and Harshvardhan, Saiyami Kher his paintbrush, and Mirza Sahibaan’s story his canvas… Beautiful.”
The “Gunday” star also praised debutante Saiyami Kher, who is starring along with Harshvardhan.
“Congratulations Saiyami Kher, you are beautiful and your eyes as blue as the sky… I hope you continue to shine just like you did in ‘Mirzya’,” he wrote.
This is what a reviewer has said about Mirzya: “Though not a musical in the literal sense, the songs take the story forward in ballet style. The visuals of the chorus dancers dressed in bright Rajasthani costumes is breath-taking. The downside, though, is that the passion between the lead players doesn’t really set the screen ablaze. Also, there is absence of real conflict and suspense as the folklore is quite known.
“Harshvardhan and Saiyami come from good acting stock. But they’re still rough around the edges. Harsh manages to give glimpses of his vulnerability and intensity as a performer. And, also his physical strength (the shirtless scene). While Saiyami, who withholds emotions in a few scenes, sparkles. If you are drawn to stories that are high on aesthetics with lyrical narratives, Mirzya is a portrait that deserves a long look”. – CINEWS
