Aston Villa sack manager Sherwood

London, Oct 26 (IANS) English Premier League club Aston Villa have sacked Tim Sherwood as manager after eight months in charge, the media reported.

The club said in a statement on Sunday: “The board believes the results on the pitch were simply not good enough and that a change is imperative,” reported Xinhua.

Villa suffered their six straight loss on Saturday (October 24) after a 2-1 defeat to Swansea, dropping to 19th in the standings.

Sherwood, who was appointed in February, led the team to the FA Cup final and the 17th-placed finish in the last season.
