Last week we reported the attack and robbery of a grandmother out with her husband and 2-year-old grandson. She was pushed to the ground and relieved of her necklace. Now 17-year-old young man has been charged.
He was arrested less than two hours after a similar robbery of a 75-year-old woman sitting on a Brampton park bench Wednesday afternoon. Both robberies happened in broad daylight in the same subdivision, east of Dixie Road and south of Sandalwood Parkway East.
Peel Regional Police believe there may be other similar robberies and are urging victims to call 21 Division detectives at 905-453-2121, ext. 2133.
Yesterday’s robbery happened at 3:30 p.m. in Blue Oak Park.
The senior had a bracelet pulled off her wrist as she sat on a bench. She suffered minor injuries, according to police.
A suspect was arrested at his home around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday. He has been charged with two counts of robbery and breach of an undertaking.
