Melbourne, July 21 (ANI): Australia’s rookie wicket-keeper Peter Nevill, who made his Ashes debut at Lord’s, is likely to retain his spot in the third Test as well.
Veteran wicket-keeper batsman Brad Haddin, who had opted to stay out of the second Test due to family reasons, might have played his last Test, especially after Nevill grabbed the opportunity with both hands at the Home of Cricket, News.com.au reported.
Meanwhile, head coach Darren Lehmann has admitted that the selectors are already in a fix over the choice between the two wicket-keepers.
He had also heaped praise on Nevill, saying that the enthusiasm injected by Nevill in his record Ashes debut was an important factor in Australia squaring the series and seizing the entire momentum heading to Edgbaston.
Before the tour game that starts from Thursday, Lehmann said that he and Rodney Marsh have to sit down and work out on which way they have to go, adding that they would be playing Haddin in the Derbyshire game before the third Test. (ANI)
