London, Jan.4 (ANI): Cricket Australia chief executive, James Sutherland has revealed that England’s next Ashes series in Australia may have a day-night Test match.
Australia had earlier hosted the first ever day-night Test, using a pink ball, against New Zealand in Adelaide.
Sutherland said that with the success of the Adelaide Test match this year, it was possible to have at least one day-night Test in the 2017/18 Ashes, the Guardian reported.
He, however, said that the cricket board till now have not had any formal conversations with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Sutherland is hopeful to schedule a day-night Test in each of Australia’s home series this year, against Pakistan and South Africa.
He asserted that it would be a natural progression for there to be an Ashes day-night Test match in 2017-18.
Australia had defeated the Black Caps by three wickets in the first ever day-night Test almost two months ago. (ANI)
