Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Harinder Sidhu, hosted a special screening of the film ‘unIndian’ starring former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee.
The film, which premiered last week, is showing in cinemas across India.
Sidhu said “Brett Lee is widely known to India and Indians. As a cricketer, his pace bowling has won him laurels at home in Australia and the admiration of his Indian supporters. Now he has embarked on a different career, as an actor.”
The former cricketer who was unable to attend the event due to prior commitments said in a statement, “Due to my schedule, I missed the reception by High Commissioner Harinder Sidhu, and thank her and her office for hosting this exclusive screening of “unIndian” at the Australian High Commission in Delhi”.
Lee has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also sang ‘You’re the one for me’, a duet with India’s singing legend Asha Bhonsle, which became popular in both India and Australia. Lee has also written and composed a song for ‘unIndian’. – CINEWS
