A Superfoods Breakfast in New York on Friday honoured the 2,000 men and women of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps who serve on board the USS Bataan, an 844-foot, 40,358-ton amphibious assault vessel. The event was part of the celebration of Fleet Week in New York and Memorial Day Weekend 2016 and was sponsored by Avocados from Peru.

Peruvian Avocado Superfood Smoothie
1(13.5-oz.) light or regular coconut milk
1 cup pineapple juice
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup ice cubes
Combine all ingredients in a blender, secure with lid and puree until smooth.
Makes 4 cups; serves 4; 1 cup per serving
