Mississauga, April 1 (CINEWS): On April 9th between 1.30-3 pm, Real Canadian Superstore, 3050, Argentia Road will come alive with color, bhangra music and festivities as the store celebrates Baisakhi, the festival which celebrates the Sikh New Year.
Last year, Real Canadian Superstore, 85 Steeles Ave W, opposite Shopper’s World celebrated Baisakhi for the first time and it was a huge success. It’s store manager was Peter Lloyd who has since taken over as store manager at the Argentia Road location. This year Baisakhi is being celebrated at both Real Canadian Superstore locations.
According to Store Manager Peter Lloyd who grew up in Oakville, his assignment at the Brampton location was a huge culture shock for him. “ I didn’t know what South Asians were looking for and knew nothing about their celebrations and important days. I learnt quickly and decided to celebrate Baisakhi. It was a huge hit with our customers and will be big one here too at our Argentia Road location,” he predicted.
Shoppers who visit the store on 9th April will experience a festive-like atmosphere, there will be tea and mithai served, and with that sugar rush, customers can then venture into the store and take full advantage of the fantastic deals being offered on virtually all the Indian grocery items.
Baisakhi celebrations this year will be held at both the Real Canadian Superstore locations (85, Steeles Ave and 3050 Argentia Road) can expect to save big and have some great family-friendly entertainment.
