New Delhi, July 20 (ANI): Seeking to downplay the controversy which arose after his meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, city Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi on Monday said his talks with the former were held in a cordial manner.
“It was about an hour long meeting. I briefed him about how we are registering crime and also how seek to ensure a fair investigation,” Bassi said at a media briefing here.
“Our talks were held in a cordial manner. I hope he has also understood my view point,” he added.
Bassi also countered the Aam Aadmi Party’s accusations over him taking the matter of the Anand Parbat stabbing lightly, saying his force is responsible for ensuring justice to victims.
“Any incident or crime we take it as a challenge and responsibility to give justice to the victim, particularly if the crime is against any vulnerable section of the community. In this case a woman as a victim and question of our not being sensitive to the matter does not arise,” he stressed.
“Immediately after the registration of the case, strenuous efforts were made, the culprits were arrested, investigation has been taken up in the right earnest. I cannot reach any conclusion so fast,” he added. (ANI)
