Beckham expects tough tie for England against Wales in Euro

London, June 14 (IANS) Former English football star David Beckham has said that next Thursday’s match between England and Wales, in the second round of Group B in Euro 2016, will not be easy.

England began their campaign in the European Championship in France with a 1-1 draw against Russia in Marseille, and next Thursday will face their neighbours Wales in Lens, reports Efe.

“I think we’ll beat them but I don’t think it’s going to be easy because (Wales coach) Chris Coleman has done such a great job with the lads and they’ve got such a great, strong team spirit,” Beckham said on Monday.

The 41-year-old, who played for England 115 times, also praised Real Madrid and Wales forward Gareth Bale for playing a good season and scoring a great goal in Wales’ 2-1 win against Slovakia.
