Big B-starrer `Kabhie Kabhie` clocks 40 years today

New Delhi, Feb. 27(ANI): The 1976 romance drama ‘Kabhie Kabhie,’ starring veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Waheeda Rehman, has clocked 40 years today.

Yashraj Raj Films took to its Twitter handle to celebrate it and shared a movie’s poster, captioning it as, “Sometimes, love is all that matters.Celebrating #40YearsOfKabhiKabhie.”

The movie, which was Yash Chopra’s second directorial film with Amitabh and Shashi in the lead roles after `Deewaar`, was particularly noted for its soundtrack compositions by Khayyam, who won Filmfare Award for Best Music.

Interestingly, the movie also led to the reinvention of the `Sholay` actor as a romantic poet, who loses his love, which was a major departure from his earlier angry young man roles such as `Deewar` and `Zanjeer.’

The movie, which also starred Raakhee, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, had won many awards, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actor.(ANI)
