Bihar Govt. passes proposal for Patna metro

Patna, Feb. 9 (ANI): The Bihar Government on Tuesday passed a proposal for the Patna Metro Rail project. The cost of this project is estimated to be around Rs. 16,960 crore.

The proposed project targets to build the Patna metro by 2021 with 27 stations.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had earlier approved the project.

The Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) had submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) in 2014 to the Bihar Government, when the project estimate was reduced to Rs. 14,000 crores from Rs. 17,000 crores.

The Planning Commission of India proposed the Patna Metro on September14, 2011.

The metro is expected to run on two routes under the PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode. (ANI)
