Bihar verdict rejection of BJP’s divisive agenda, says Capt Amarinder

Chandigarh, Nov. 8 (ANI): Former Punjab chief minister and Congress Member of Parliament from Amritsar Capt Amarinder Singh on the Bihar assembly polls verdict was a rejection of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) divisive agenda.

“Whatever you say or do. The people of the country are very wise, as they understand that the BJP’s divisive agenda is bad for the nation. And that is why the people of Bihar rejected the BJP. They want a united and secular India so that the country could progress,” he added.

When asked about the impact of Bihar elections result on the Punjab assembly elections to be held in 2017, Capt said: “Punjab is different. Here, it’s all about religion. The Akalis don’t know what people are talking and thinking about them after the Guru Granth Sahib sacrilege cases came to the fore. They will come to know where they stand during the upcoming assembly election.”

“Not a single person is supporting the Akalis’ policies, and thus, people will totally reject them. It will be difficult for the Akalis to secure even 4-5 seats,” he added.

Rejecting the Shiromani Aakali Dal’s (SAD) rhetoric that ‘Panth’ is in danger, he said they keep shouting this all the time. (ANI)
