New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of misusing government funds and splurging on party promotions and advertisements.
“They have taken bungalows, they are flying in cars and the biggest thing which the country is seeing today is that crores worth rupees are being spent for advertisement of Kejriwal. Crores of rupees have been spent on television advertisements for Kejriwal,” said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.
“Is this the way they are going to spend money. This is the reason why the people have realized not to contribute because after all, this is the way our money is going to drains,” he added.
He further said that the true face of AAP has been exposed in front of the people of Delhi.
“Kejriwal calling the people today saying that we are bankrupt and they should support the AAP fund wise, this is absolutely ridiculous because people of Delhi have realised what the truth is,” Patra said.
“When AAP had not formed the government, they were saying that they will not take bungalows and not travel by cars, they would be following austere measures but just opposite to that is happening,” he added.
Earlier today, Kejriwal appealed for donations for the AAP, claiming that the political organisation has become impoverished after winning the assembly elections in the national capital.
“After we came to power, our funds got exhausted. Now we want funds to run our party and we want it from the public. The public has funded us and we never took any money under the table. We gave a record of every rupee we got,” Kejriwal told ANI. (ANI)
