New Delhi, Mar.15 (ANI): Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Tuesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) are like hand in glove, and added that the government should focus on real issues rather than paying heed to uncalled for statements.
Singh told ANI that the AMIM and the BJP are playing the same game.
“AIMIM and BJP are playing the same game, there are lot of problems in the country which need attention like poverty, inflation, the depreciating value of rupee but nobody is talking on these issues. AIMIM chief says I will not hail the slogan and BJP emphasises in doing so, all of it is uncalled for, I will reiterate that BJP and MIM are hand in glove,” said Singh.
Against the backdrop of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s suggestion that the new generation needs to be taught to chant slogans hailing mother India, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said that he won’t chant slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
“I don’t chant that slogan. What are you going to do Bhagwat sahab?” Owaisi said at a public rally in Latur.
“I won’t utter that (slogan) even if you put a knife on my throat. Nowhere has it been mentioned in the Constitution that one should say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’,” he added.
The RSS chief had earlier said the new generation needs to be taught to chant slogans hailing mother India. (ANI)
