New Delhi, Dec.30 (ANI): The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Wednesday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their assertion on the Ram Temple construction, saying it is their old habit to raise the issue before the elections in Uttar Pradesh to gain political mileage.
“As the elections approach in Uttar Pradesh, these people will raise the demand and will be raising this voice for the construction of Ram Temple,” BSP leader Sudhindra Bhadoria told ANI.
“They have been raising this issue time and again as the elections come. Their only interest on the issue of Ram Temple is to create communal hatred and communal riots so that they can make political mileage of it,” he added.
The BJP had yesterday clarified its stance on the issue of construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya with Union Minister Mahesh Sharma asserting that his party and the government had already given their opinion that people of the country want the temple to be constructed as soon as possible.
With the vexed issue of construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya gaining momentum, the Congress Party had earlier asked the BJP to give details of the funds collected in last 30 years for building the temple.
Congress leader Manish Tewari while talking to ANI pulled up the BJP over its “ideological purity” for saying that people of the country wanted the temple to be constructed in Ayodhya.
The Ram Temple-Babri Masjid issue returned to hog the limelight at the end of this year following arrival of a truckload of stones at the Ramsevak Puram workshop in Ayodhya.
The arrival of the stones evoked a sharp reaction from the Muslim leaders. (ANI)
