BJP to play role of constructive opposition, says Sushil Modi

Patna, Nov. 8 (ANI): Welcoming the verdict in favour of the Mahagathbandhan, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Modi on Sunday said that his party would extend full support to the Nitish Kumar-led government for the state’s development.

“The BJP will play the role of a constructive opposition,” said the former deputy chief minister.

Hailing the clear majority to the grand alliance, he said, “It’s good that the mandate is not fractured as a clear mandate is in the interest of the state. We respect the verdict.”

Replying to questions regarding the reasons behind the NDA’s defeat, he said, “The NDA won lesser seats than expected. We will introspect our shortcomings in the coming days.”

The grand alliance is heading towards a clear majority. Results and trends available so far show that the alliance has bagged 13 seats and is ahead in 127. The BJP-led NDA has won two seats and is leading in 61 seats. Independent and others have bagged one seat and are leading in seven. (ANI)
