London, July 02 (ANI): FIFA’s embattled president Sepp Blatter has insisted that he has a clear conscience, saying that anyone who associate him with the corruption scandal should be sent to jail.
The 79-year-old, who was re-elected FIFA president at the body’s meeting in Zurich, had earlier announced that he would step down amidst the organisation’s corruption crisis.
However, Blatter said that he had not resigned from his position and was believed to be considering standing for re-election.
Blatter further said that his faith has given him strength during the last week, adding that he would go to heaven one day, the BBC reported.
Meanwhile, Swiss authorities and the United States have launched separate criminal proceedings into FIFA’s awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. (ANI)
