Bopanna-Mergea race into third round of Australian Open

Melbourne, Jan.22 (ANI): Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea displayed an imperious form as they breezed into the third round of the Australian Open on Friday.

The Indo-Romanian pair overcame Czech pair of Lukas Dlouhy and Jiri Vesely 6-3, 6-2 in a one-sided second round contest that lasted almost an hour.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Bhupathi and his Luxembourgish partner Gilles Muller made an early exit from Australian Open after suffering a 3-6, 2-6 defeat at the hands of the Bryan brothers in the second round. (ANI)
