Chennai, July 17 (ANI): Former captain Rahul Dravid, who is set to coach the India ‘A’ team, believes that bowlers hold the key to any team’s success at the Test cricket level.
“A lot of success at a test level is really down to getting 20 wickets and having bowlers who can help you take 20 wickets would be the key. It will be nice to find some quality bowlers at the end of the A series,” said Dravid, who captained India in 20 Tests and 62 ODIs.
The 42-year-old batting great said that he hoped to see wickets which would provide bounce and pace in the upcoming series.
“It is ideal to have a wicket that provides even contest between the bat and ball. At Chepauk, we generally get good wickets that produces even contest,” he added during a press conference.
The India ‘A’ team will take on Australia ‘A’ in a two-match unofficial Test series starting July 22 in Chennai, and will also play another two-match unofficial Test series against South Africa ‘A’ next month. (ANI)
