Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is known for being a fashion icon in Bollywood, said that she hates the term ‘fashionista’.
“I hate the word fashionista. There is a difference between being fashionable and stylish. One should be comfortable with what he or she wears. One should smile and be confident,” Sonam said addressing the media.
The 31-year-old beautiful Neerja star was interacting with the media at an event to launch a mobile phone.
“I love taking pictures. I love taking a lot of selfies. It’s important to smile while you take pictures. I smile a lot,” she added, smiling.
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh and celebrity photographer Daboo Ratnani were also present at the event.
According to a dictionary fashionista is a person who designs, sells, or is very interested in clothing fashions and a designer, promoter, or follower of the latest fashions. The word was coined with English word fashion borrowing the suffix from Spanish in the 1990s as haute couture became a billion dollar industry.
Hm…Can we find some other word Sonam? Not sure what they call fashionista in Hindi. – CINEWS
