DAVOS, Switzerland, January 22 (CINEWS): So what if the economy is in terrible shape, the loonie is at a 13-year low and a barrel of oil at under $30 now costs less than a litre of Vodka at the LCBO, Canada is has been ranked number two in the best countries in the world! Pat your backs. And just for the record, India has been ranked 22.
Released at the World Economic Forum in Davos Swizerland, the survey rated 60 countries across 24 categories.
Germany ranked number one, Canada two, the United Kingdom three, the United States four and Sweden five.
The survey was prepared by U.S. News and World Report, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of business, and global brand consultants BAV Consulting
Canada, the survey said, welcomes immigrants and celebrates diversity, draws some of its national identity from its expansive wilderness, has produced a long list of accomplished writers and artists, and is a high-tech industrial society with a high standard of living.
The service industry powers our economic engine, so does the energy, food and mineral sectors. Despite the current slump in oil prices, we are number three in the world in proven oil reserves and is the world’s fifth largest oil producer.
And having a telegenic new Prime Minister who has a sunny disposition doesn’t hurt the way the world perceives us.
Here are the 10 best countries to live in the world today:
1. Germany
2. Canada
3. United Kingdom
4. United States of America
5. Sweden
6. Australia
7. Japan
8. France
9. Netherlands
10. Denmark
