New Delhi, Mar.11 (ANI): A group of 23 Canadian agriculture companies and organisations are planning to visit India from March 15 to 19 to participate in AHAAR 2016.
At the show, the Canadian pavilion will feature Canadian companies showcasing high-quality agriculture products including canola oil, seafood, snack items, health and energy food/drinks, cereals, flax products, sugar-free items, gluten-free products, bakery goods, processed foods, confectionery, juices, and fresh and dried fruits, including apple products amongst others.
The Canadian High Commissioner for Canada to India, Nadir Patel, will open the Canadian Pavilion on 15th March 2016.
In addition to its pavilion, Canada’s participation will include daily live cooking demonstrations by award-winning celebrity chef Saby featuring high-quality Canadian ingredients, and the launch of new Canadian ice wines by Inniskillin, Sawmill Creek and Jackson Triggs.
In addition, company representatives will explore partnership opportunities with Indian companies in the agriculture and agri-food sector.
Supported by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the provinces of Saskatchewan, Quebec, Ontario and Alberta, Export Development Corporation and the High Commission of Canada in India, their mission will strengthen the ever-growing commercial ties between Canada and India.
The delegation will comprise representatives of several Canadian companies and organizations like Alberta Agriculture & Forestry, Cattle Boyz Foods, Citadelle, Crofters Organic, Exim Promotion Inc, Government of Quebec, Groupe MDMP, Khadelia Business Group, Lazer Enterprise, Mera Food, Ontario Food Exports, Park Tak.
AHAAR is an annual event organised by the Government of India’s Ministry of Food Processing Industries with the active support of the apex trade bodies, which include: Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), the Association of Resource Companies for Hospitality Industry of India (ARCHII), the Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (HOTREMAI), the All India Food Processors Association (AIFPA), the Food and Hospitality Support Association of India (FHSAI) and the Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI).
