A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for Parmvir ‘Parm’ Singh Chahil, 21, and Ronjot Singh Dhami, 25. Both are wanted on aggravated assault charges in the troubling March 13 incident at Square One bus terminal. The violent and seemingly unprovoked attack by three young men on a helpless autistic man has provoked a storm of outrage and the video has been viewed nearly 400,000 times.
Police say Dhami is of no fixed address, but his last address was in Surrey, B.C. The second suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Parmvir Singh Chahil, who also has no fixed address. Chahil is also wanted for aggravated assault.
Police have not released the name of the third suspect.
They add that the three men who may still be in the Toronto area, are considered dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees them should call 911.
A lawyer, Jag Virk, representing Dhami, says his client is innocent and will be turning himself in to the police.
Peel Inspector Norman English called the incident a “cowardly act on defenceless 29-year-old autistic male.”
It may be recalled that the victim was sitting on the stairs of the lower level of the Square One bus terminal when he was approached by three men who proceeded to violently attack him.
The victim was taken to local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He has been discharged from hospital. – CINEWS
