Canadian stocks recover after two-day slide

Toronto, June 29 (IANS) Canada’s main stock market in Toronto rebounded as crude oil prices showed signs of recovery after two days of losses.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s benchmark Standard & Poor’s/TSX Composite Index gained 152.90 point, or 1.12 per cent, to close at 13,842.69 points on Tuesday, Xinhua news agency reported.

All of the TSX index’s eight main sub-sectors were higher.

The Canadian dollar traded higher at $0.7672, compared with Monday’s closing rate of $0.7649.
