Toronto, January 29 (CINEWS): While most news stories gloomily report that the low loonie is causing economic pain to Canadians by the rising cost of everything from groceries to real estate, one recent report talked about one beneficiary of a low loonie- the tourism industry. So anyone connected with it stands to do well or make a killing. That’s the good news, the bad news is if you aren’t a motel owner or store owner in tourist districts you could end up spending a lot more on your next domestic vacation.
The high American dollar has already dampened cross-border holidays and shopping forcing Canadians to look within its borders. But with so many tourists from south of the border taking advantage of lower prices vacationing here, it is likely vacations for Canadians in Canada could be higher than in previous years.
