Johannesburg, Feb.17 (ANI): Edinson Cavani came off the bench to score the decisive goal as Paris Saint-Germain edged past Chelsea 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash at the Parc des Princes stadium.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic put the hosts ahead in the 39th minute before John Obi Mikel restored parity for Chelsea by scoring a precious away goal on the stroke of half-time.
However, PSG were able to breach the defence of the reigning Premier League champions when Cavani clinically dispatched Angel di Maria’s flighted ball into the box in the 78th minute, Sport24 reported.
The French champions will now take on Chelsea in the second leg of their Champions League clash on March 9. (ANI)
