Kolkata, Nov. 3 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday moved the Kolkata High Court against the bail granted to Trinamool Congress leader Madan Mitra.
The matter has been listed for today as the High Court has accepted the plea against Mitra’s bail.
The CBI had asserted earlier that it would do ‘everything in its power’ to get Mitra back in custody.
The district and sessions judge at the Alipore Court had on Saturday granted conditional bail to Mitra on a personal bond of Rs. 2 lakh in the Saradha Chit Fund Scam after over 11 months of custody.
Mitra was arrested by the CBI on December 12, 2014, in connection with the Saradha Chit Fund Scam.
He was suffering from several diseases and was admitted to a hospital for a long period during his jail custody.
The court also granted bail to Sandhir Agarwal, another accused in the case, on a personal bond of Rs. 3 lakh. (ANI)
